The Capitol building is a main attraction that helps to draw in thousands of visitors to the city each year. The design and detail in this building remains the original hand crafted work, which has been carefully preserved for over a hundred years.

The Capitol Building is 230 feet tall at its highest point. It is topped with a circular central drum tower and is capped with a large dome and cupola. The building was constructed over a hundred years ago in a style that the architects borrowed from that of the White House. In fact, the replication is so convincing that the capitol building has been used in many movies in place of the original White House in Washington, DC. George Mann started the building and Cass Gilbert finished the construction of the building in 1915, only 16 years after it began.

The grounds of the Capitol building are also rich in history and hold special meaning to the people of Little Rock. Among the grounds are monuments to veterans of past wars, tributes to police officers who have fallen in the line of duty, and even confederate soldiers. There is also marker for Confederate women and Confederate war prisoners who had during the War.

The Little Rock Zoo is another fun place for the little ones to visit. It is a great place to commune with nature and visit the collection of animals. The young and young at heart love to visit the Little Rock zoo. The zoo is donation-based and children can spend a few quarters to get a handful of feed that they can feed to the animals. Furthermore, the animal keepers are friendly and will answer any questions, sometimes even getting the animals to do tricks.

The Little Rock Arsenal is an incredible building that is located in MacArthur Park near downtown Little Rock. The Arsenal was built in over a century and a half ago1840 and was originally designed to hold ammunition and weapons for the U.S. military. Since its 20th Century decommissioning as a military building, the Arsenal has been the location of two museums: the Arkansas Museum of Science and Natural History and Antiquities from 1942 to 1997 and, the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History from 2001 to the present. It is one of the oldest buildings in central Arkansas and is the oldest building in Little Rock. The Arsenal was also the birthplace of General Douglas MacArthur the supreme commander of U.S. forces in the South Pacific during World War Two.

Former President William J. Clinton has contributed most of all to the reputation and celebrity of Little Rock. The William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park include the Clinton presidential library and the offices of the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton School of Public Service. Bill Clinton himself - the 42nd President of the United States, has established all public buildings.

The library itself is the largest presidential library in the United States. It holds well over 2 million photographs taken while Clinton was in office as well as over 80 million pages of documents, 21 million e-mail messages, and nearly 80,000 artifacts from the Clinton presidency – large and small. Included with the artifacts is a full-scale replica of the Clinton-era Oval Office. Other buildings on the Clinton compound include the Clinton School of Public Service, and the offices of the Clinton Foundation.

The Clinton Presidential Center opened on November 18, 2004 and cost a whopping $165 million to construct. It occupies150,000 square feet within a 28-acre park. Many residents of Little Rock believed that too much of their town was dedicated to the former notorious president and were unhappy with the construction. Thus, the compound was not very well received.
